An amateur Black Country football club will join a select group of teams in the UK to sport the Birmingham Children Hospital Charity logo on their shirts thanks to the support of two local businesses.

C&D Consultancy, a demolition specialist in Wolverhampton, has joined forces with The Fox at Shipley to sponsor the home shirts and training tops for Castlecroft Rangers.

In a change of approach, the two businesses have decided to waive the right to have their own logos on the away strip, instead choosing instead to offer it to one of the region’s biggest charities.

“We are both big football fans so wanted to get behind a local team that was going places and if we could help raise the profile of the Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity in the process then all the better,” explained John Woodward, Managing Director of C&D Consultancy.

“Neil Taylor, owner of The Fox at Shipley, has already helped raise £75,000 for the charity after it saved his daughter’s life so when he approached me with the idea of sponsoring the team it was a no brainer.”

He continued: “Castlecroft Rangers has only been going since 2011, but has already achieved back-to-back promotions and will be going for further success this year.”

Neil added his support: “I’m delighted that John and his firm have decided to back Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity.

“It’s a cause close to my heart and I really want to get to £100,000 fundraising so they can help save the lives of more children like my daughter Kiahna. With this in mind I’ve just completed the New York Marathon.”

2015 is a big year for Castlecroft Rangers following their move to Wolverhampton United’s stadium in Prestwood Road.

They are setting their sights on challenging for promotion to Division 1 of the Birmingham League and continuing to raise the profile of grassroots football in Wolverhampton – the club are even in the top 100 of most followed teams in England with nearly 5000 followers.

David Brook, Chairman, concluded: “We are extremely proud to be playing a small part in helping promote the Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity and to have the logo on our strip is a huge moment for us as a club.

“Our players really get involved too, helping out at events held by Neil to raise money and selling raffle tickets to generate our own contribution.”

John formed C&D Consultancy in 2003 and has seen it become one of the leading demolition specialists in the country, coordinating a host of projects across the UK and Europe every year.

A team of 8 experts advises on initial planning, project management and one-off consultancy, as well as being brought in to turn around crisis jobs.

In addition to this deal, the company is also raising money for Breast Cancer Now after a close friend to the firm passed away this year.
