Hiring the best talent and building strong relationships has reaped dividends for a leading West Midlands legal services provider after it made its way into the ‘Top Ten’ conveyancing specialists in the UK.
QualitySolicitors Talbots, which boasts seven offices across the Black Country and Worcestershire, has completed more than 8,000 property cases in the last twelve months, marking £4.2m in fees and representing a 25% increase on the previous year.
The company has enjoyed strong growth in its dedicated ‘new build’ conveyancing team, which specialises in assisting buyers of new homes from builders throughout the UK.
In the past twelve months, activity has almost doubled in this area and places QualitySolicitors Talbots in the top two law firms in the country providing this niche service.
“It has been a fantastic year for our Residential Property team and this is reflected in our strong performance for December, when we were positioned in the top 10 most active firms in the UK,” explained Mary Mocklow, Director at QualitySolicitors Talbots.
“There was a conscious decision made in 2010 to build this part of the business and this has paid off, with a clear strategy delivering annual growth year-on-year.”
She continued: “Our strength lies in the vast array of knowledge we have at our disposal, with our experts boasting more than 200 years’ experience in all aspects of property law.
“We have also successfully appointed different specialists, including Paul Reed who is one of only two people in the region that looks after niche conveyancing in the form of land acquisitions, site set-ups and plot sales for smaller developers.”
QualitySolicitors Talbots is looking to build on this success even further in 2016 by increasing annual fees to £5m.
As part of this strategy, the firm has internally appointed Keith Yates as Head of Residential Property and will look to use his experience in Residential and Commercial conveyancing to maintain and expand its nationwide client base.
He has been involved in the sector for more than 46 years and played a major role in the growth of Stourport-based Lumsdons before it was acquired in 2013 by QualitySolicitors Talbots.
“We have a residential property team in each of our seven offices and this includes well known experts James Gwilliams, Claire Cole, Donna Croot, Emma Treacy, Frank Preston, Liz Hulland and Paul Reed,” explained Keith.
“There are few independent law firms in the West Midlands who can boast this depth of resource and we are hoping to add even further to that with high-profile appointments later this year.”
He went on to add: “Property is much more than just bricks and mortar and, despite our growth, we are focused on personal service and understanding exactly what support our clients require.
“This could be when purchasing your first home, arranging tenancy agreements, buying at auction or getting to grips with planning law. We have no hidden costs and a same day response promise, all designed to ensure the process is as hassle free as possible.”
QualitySolicitors Talbots has been in the West Midlands since 1828 and currently offers legal services from offices in Codsall, Dudley, Halesowen, Kidderminster, Stourbridge, Stourport and Wolverhampton.
The company, which secured £8m of annual fees in 2015, offers high quality employment, family, trusts and estates and personal legal advice, not to mention a growing Business Services team that covers corporate transactions, disputes and licensing law.
